Frequently asked questions
Your questions, our advice
Why doesn’t this black carry the warning about children’s attention?
Its color comes from vegetable carbon E153, a colorant not covered by the regulations governing azo dyes (E102, E104, E110, E122, E124, E129); it is the only color in the Fractal Full-Fill range that falls into this category.
How do you get a deep black without it turning gray?
Add the gel a little at a time to well-kneaded dough, then let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes: the vegetable charcoal continues to darken slightly after mixing in.
Does this coloring hold up during baking?
Yes, the glycerol E422 base is heat-resistant and can be used in cookie and macaron dough without losing its color.
