Frequently asked questions
Your questions, our advice
Is True Blue coloring oil-soluble, like coloring for chocolate?
No. This is a water-soluble liquid coloring (water- and glycerin-based): it is suitable for buttercream, icing, fondant and ganache, but does not mix with couverture chocolate or pure fat. To color chocolate, use an oil-soluble powder coloring.
What is the maximum recommended dose for True Blue?
The maximum recommended usage level is 16.2 g/kg. Adjust it gradually using the dropper nozzle to control the shade's intensity.
Can True Blue be used for desserts intended for children?
Yes, its formula contains no coloring subject to the EU regulatory warning regarding children's activity and attention.
How do you use True Blue coloring without making the mixture set?
Add the coloring drop by drop directly to the prepared mixture (buttercream, icing, fondant), mixing between each addition rather than pouring in the full amount at once.
