What is the difference from covering sugar paste?
Flower paste is firmer and dries more quickly: it is designed to be rolled out very thinly and hold its shape. Covering sugar paste remains more pliable and is used to cover a cake.
How do you soften it before use?
Knead it between your hands for a few moments to warm and soften it before rolling it out with a rolling pin or sheeter to a thin thickness.
Can it be mounted on floral wire?
Yes, that is its main use. Mount the petals on stems of a gauge suited to the flower size: finer gauges for small petals, thicker ones for supporting stems. Then let them air-dry before assembly.
