Long and slender, with ridges running lengthwise: the vanilla pod is an exercise in precision. The PX43105S mold, designed by Cédric Grolet, makes one half-pod per cavity; two moldings assembled lengthwise recreate the full volume of a closed pod.

Uses
- Full-pod trompe-l'œil: assemble two frozen half-pods with tempered cocoa butter
- Open half-pod version: elongated individual dessert, served with the textured side facing up
- Madagascar vanilla crémeux insert in the center of a whipped vanilla ganache
- Finish with a matte black or very dark brown velvet spray to evoke dried vanilla

One half-pod per cavity. To create a full three-dimensional pod, assemble two half-pods from two moldings.

Can the half-pod be served on its own, without assembly?
Yes, the individual half-pod is already a complete dessert for plated service, textured side facing up.
