Tip 199 creates a fluted pattern with pronounced grooves along the entire length of the piped decoration, for a textured, even finish.
Is tip 199 suitable for rosettes or only for borders?
Tip 199 works equally well for voluminous rosettes and continuous borders, depending on the piping technique: use a spiral for a rosette and a straight line for a border.
How can I prevent the pattern from tip 199 from becoming distorted?
Use firm buttercream and apply even pressure: a mixture that is too soft or uneven pressure will blur the fluting of tip 199.
