Tip #2F
Small closed-star piping tip for fine details and delicate borders
The Colour Mill #2F piping tip is a stainless-steel pastry tip, compatible with all disposable or reusable piping bags, with or without a coupler. Small closed-star profile: it creates fine rosettes and ridges, suitable for delicate finishes and small pastries.
Professional-quality food-grade stainless steel: the tip retains its shape under pressure, does not deform over time, and is dishwasher-safe for intensive use.

Recommended uses
- Fine finishes on petits fours and bite-sized pastries
- Small rosettes on filled macarons or mini choux pastries
- Delicate borders on tartlets and individual entremets
Instructions
- Place the tip in an empty piping bag, pointed end first, and cut the end level with the base for a precise fit
- Fill the bag two-thirds full with your mixture (buttercream, whipped ganache, stabilized whipped cream), pushing the air toward the tip
- Hold the bag vertically about 1 cm above the surface and squeeze with an even motion; rinse the tip in hot soapy water after use (dishwasher-safe)
Note: the consistency of the cream is the main factor determining the regularity of the pattern (it should hold a ribbon on the spatula): rinse the #2F tip immediately after use to prevent residue from drying in the small closed-star profile.
Frequently asked questions
Is this piping tip suitable for petits fours and small pastries?
Yes, that is its main use: its smaller opening creates a relief proportionate to small-sized pastries.
What bag size is most practical with this tip?
A 23 cm bag offers greater control for precise movements on small surfaces.
Does the pattern remain sharp on very small pastries?
Yes, provided you use a fine, smooth-textured cream without pieces that could clog the smaller opening.
