Generally, 3 to 4 rods arranged in a circle under each upper tier are sufficient for a stable assembly.
How do you cut the rods to the correct length?
Insert a test rod to the bottom of the cake, mark the icing level, then cut all the rods to this length with wire cutters.
Are these rods reusable?
No, they are for single food use and must be removed before serving the cake; do not put them back in contact with another food.
