Sprinkles for cakes and cupcakes
Sugar pearls, mini pearls, sugar strands, themed shapes, and assorted mixes: the whole sprinkle family for decorating layer cakes, cupcakes, donuts, and cookies.
Sprinkle varieties
Sugar pearls add texture and crunch, mini pearls provide fine surface coverage, and sugar strands are a classic for donuts and ice cream.
For special occasions, stars and hearts are ideal for celebrations, Sprinkles Mix combines several shapes and colors in one jar, and the Happy Sprinkles brand offers signature, highly pigmented mixes.
How to apply them
Sprinkles stick to a still-fresh surface: ganache, buttercream, royal icing, or glaze before it sets. On dry fondant, lightly moisten with a brush or use a dab of icing.
To decorate the edge of a layer cake, pour the sprinkles into your palm and gently press them onto the smoothed frosting, with a tray under the cake to catch any excess. Allow about 80 to 100 g to cover the base of a 15 cm cake.
Frequently asked questions
Can sprinkles withstand baking?
Sugar strands and pearls can withstand a short bake in batter (muffins, cookies). Fine shapes and metallic finishes should be added after baking.
How should you store them?
Keep them in their closed container, in a dry place away from heat: 12 to 24 months. Moisture makes the colors stick together and run.
Can you mix different varieties?
Yes, that's the idea behind mixes. Combine sizes and finishes (matte, glossy, metallic) within the same color range for a coordinated look.
