Tiffany 3D Lace Mat
Garland lace trim with a natural 3D effect.
This Cake Lace mat creates a garland lace trim whose varying depths give the lace a natural, realistic 3D relief once dry. Made from food-grade silicone, it is used with edible lace paste to decorate the edge of a tiered cake or wedding cake.

Instructions for use
- Prepare the lace paste (Cake Lace Mix, starch-based) according to the manufacturer's instructions and spread it thinly over the mat, filling the pattern's recesses thoroughly to reveal the 3D relief.
- Bake at 80°C for 12 to 15 minutes, let cool for 5 minutes, then carefully unmold.
- Attach the lace to fondant using a broad-tipped water brush.
- Color it before or after drying with powder or gel food coloring.
- Compatible with ganache and meringue buttercream; not recommended for classic buttercream, which is too soft to hold it in place.
Please note: dried lace remains flexible for several months if stored in parchment paper followed by aluminum foil, away from light and strong odors. Clean the mat with lukewarm water and mild soap, without an abrasive sponge, and dry it completely before storing.
Frequently asked questions
What gives Tiffany lace its 3D effect?
The mat's garland pattern has varying depths: once the paste has dried and been unmolded, the resulting relief is naturally more pronounced than that of classic flat lace.
What surface should this lace be applied to?
Firm ganache or meringue buttercream. Classic buttercream remains too soft and does not hold the lace properly.
Can the lace be colored after unmolding?
Yes, with powder or gel food coloring, applied before or after complete drying, to achieve pastel or more intense shades.
