Pure tartaric acid baking powder, phosphate-free and aluminum-free
FUNCAKES baking powder is formulated with tartaric acid (E336) and sodium bicarbonate (E500), with no added phosphate or aluminum. When it comes into contact with liquid and the heat of the oven, the two ingredients react and release carbon dioxide, aerating the batter. Unlike baking soda alone, it already contains its own acid and therefore works with any batter, even a neutral one, without needing time to rise.
Vegan, gluten-free, phosphate-free and aluminum-free

Frequently asked questions
Your questions, our advice
What's the difference compared to baking soda alone?
Baking soda alone needs an acidic ingredient in the recipe to react. FUNCAKES baking powder already contains its own tartaric acid, so it guarantees leavening even in a neutral batter with no acidic ingredients.
How can I tell if my baking powder is still active?
Add a teaspoon to a little hot water: lots of immediate foam confirms that it's active. Little or no foam means it has lost its effectiveness due to moisture or age.
Can this baking powder be used in savory recipes?
Yes, use the same amount as for sweet recipes: it works well in savory fritters, tempura, light batters and cheese scones.
