Ingredients and allergens
Ingredients: Humectant: E422, colors: E122, E129, E132, emulsifiers: E322, E433.
Please note: This colorant is oil-soluble and does not dissolve in water-based preparations (royal icing, syrup). Shake the bottle before use and add the color gradually: it is easier to darken a shade that is too light than to lighten a base that is already too intense. Store away from light and heat, with the bottle tightly closed.
Warning: E122 and E129 may have adverse effects on activity and attention in children.
Frequently asked questions
Can it be used to color cocoa butter for a velvet spray?
Yes, Burgundy disperses well in melted cocoa butter and can be used to prepare a mixture for spraying with a spray gun. Test the shade on a neutral surface first.
Does the color withstand oven baking?
Burgundy is mainly intended for preparations that are not baked after coloring (chocolate, ganache, icing, buttercream). In oven-baked dough, the shade may fade slightly depending on the baking temperature and duration.
Can the Burgundy shade be made darker if needed?
Yes, add the colorant gradually, one drop at a time, mixing between each addition: it is easier to darken a shade that is too light than to lighten a base that is already too intense.
